Bones are a living substance - they are constantly being rebuilt &remodeled. The bone metabolism is a complex process and serves to mineralize the bones. The basic building materials for this are calcium, vitamin D3 and K1 which are mutually dependent and therefore highly interdependent. They are also important for the growth of healthy cartilage structures in the joints.

The way they are kept today, horses rarely get the optimal ratio of important vitamins and minerals in their diet to maintain bone health.
A deficit in feeding can have a negative impact on the health of the horse and limit the development of a resilient skeleton. Young horses in particular need a well thought-out supply of nutrients during their growth phases.
An increased need can also exist in horses in high performance sports, with lameness and arthrosis, acute bone problems due to falls or kicks, as well as chips, osteoporosis, fissures and much more.

How does ESS Bone Protection work?

ESS Bone Protection contains a high-quality combination of calcium, vitamins K1 & D3 and MSM - the foundation of building and maintaining a healthy skeleton, effective bone metabolism and resilient cartilage structures.
Preventive feeding of these important nutrients can reduce the risk of premature wear and tear on cartilage and bone structures and actively support regeneration in the event of acute problems and deficiencies.

When does my horse need ESS Bone Protection?

ESS Bone Protection supports the bone metabolism of horses of all ages and promotes a resilient skeleton, cartilage and connective tissue.
Young horses that are growing, sport horses and horses with diseases of the musculoskeletal system benefit particularly from the feeding.
The powder is suitable as a preventive cure, as well as for intensive therapy support for bone changes, operations and general limitations of the musculoskeletal system.

    Large horses: 30 g per day

    Ponies: 15 g per day
    (contains up to 50 servings per 1,500 g can  // up to 133 servings per 4,000 g bucket)

    Intensive treatment: 40 - 50 g per day
    (contains up to 37 servings per 1,500 g can  // up to 100 servings per 4,000 g bucket)

    Young horses up to 1 year: 5 g per day
    (contains up to 300 Portions per 1,500 g can // up to 800 portions per 4,000 g bucket)

    Young horses up to 2 years: 10 g per day
    (contains up to 150 Portions per 1,500 g can // up to 400 portions per 4,000 g bucket)


    Due to the increased vitamin D content, these supplementary feeds may only be used up to a maximum of 1.3% of the daily ration. Consider nutrient input from other feeds. The daily ration includes roughage, concentrated feed and muesli, as well as all other feed that contains natural or added zinc. If you have any questions about the application, our team of experts is available.

    Additional feed is not a substitute for needs-based, varied feeding and performance-based training of the horse.
    The specified recommended (daily) dose should not be exceeded in the long term without consulting a veterinarian .

    with a similar effect: 300,000.00 IU Vitamin D3 (3a671), 150.00 mg vitamin K1 from phytomenadione (3a712), 3,000.00 mg vitamin C from ascorbic acid (3a300)

    This product is 100% doping-free (tested according to FEI / ADMR control guidelines).

    The feeding recommendations and information on dosage must be observed. If compliance cannot be guaranteed, it is sufficient to discontinue the product 48 hours before the competition.
