Vitamin E plays a central role in the horse's body and is involved in many vital processes. In particular, the focus is on its antioxidant effect with which the vitamin actively contributes to the protection of body cells. During the horse's natural energy metabolism, waste and pollutants are produced in the body - the so-called "free radicals" - which are rendered harmless by antioxidants.
A lack of vitamin E is often the cause of extensive cell damage, severe drops in performance, muscle breakdown and tension, as well as a generally weak nervous and immune system.
The more energy a horse needs, the more pollutants are produced in the body. Consequently, high-performance horses and horses in active muscle building as well as animals with a tendency to stress, illnesses and muscle tension, suspected PSSM and during pregnancy have a particularly high vitamin E requirement.
ESS Vitamin E provides the horse with a quickly available composition of various vitamin E sources and the amino acid lysine to actively protect (muscle) cells, prevent tension, promote muscle growth and strengthen the body's own defences.
