Healthy, strong long hair, a shiny coat and stable hooves are the sign of a healthy horse.
While grooming is important, the condition of the horn, hair and skin is primarily affected by the nutrients the horse ingests through its diet.
If there is a lack of these nutrients or if the horn and hair require a disproportionate amount of these building materials, it appears weak and brittle, the skin barrier is less able to defend itself and the horse is more susceptible to diseases such as mud fever, fungi, eczema and thrush. This is particularly visible in the quality of the horse's horn: If the nutrient supply is not right, the hoof can no longer withstand the stresses caused by environmental influences, shoeing and training. Dry hooves, unstable walls, shoes breaking out or a tendency to thrush can be the result.

High-quality salmon, black cumin and linseed oil provide essential fatty acids that support skin health and ensure an elastic, supple and resistant structure.
The healing of already attacked skin areas is promoted.
The growth of new, vital skin and hair cells is promoted by the high dose of biotin: hair loss and hair breakage can be reduced by feeding and the exhausting change of coat can be supported. Zinc, MSM and the sulfur-containing amino acid DL-methionine contribute to the further stabilization of horn and hair synthesis and can compensate for a potential deficiency.

When does my horse need ESS Hoof & Hair?

ESS Hoof & Hair is suitable for horses of all breeds and ages to support skin health. The liquid can be fed preventively to prevent a deficiency and is also ideal as a 6-8 week cure during the change of coat.

Horses with a tendency to skin problems such as eczema or fungi as well as horses with poor horn quality benefit from long-term feeding. Regrowing durable horn in particular requires a lot of patience which is why feeding for at least 4-5 months is advisable before reliable results become visible.
